Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking pan For baking the casserole.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 0.75 cup cooked chopped bacon
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package frozen tater tots (32 oz)
  • 1 can condensed cheddar cheese soup (10.5 oz)
  • 1 container sour cream (16 oz)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray and set it aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it’s no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes. Be sure to drain any excess fat to keep the casserole from being greasy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, chopped bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, frozen tater tots, cheddar cheese soup, and sour cream. Mix everything together until well combined. This step is crucial for ensuring every bite is packed with flavor!
  • Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan. Make sure it’s evenly distributed for even cooking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and golden. For an extra cheesy finish, you can sprinkle additional cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in some diced onions or bell peppers with the beef.
