- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large onion chopped
- 4 12-ounce cans baked beans
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef and onions with the baked beans, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
Bake the casserole uncovered for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until bubbly and heated through.
For a smokier flavor, you can add a few strips of cooked and crumbled bacon to the mixture before baking.
