  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed (about 2/3 cup)
  • 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper and spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, using a hand mixer, blend the melted butter and brown sugar together until smooth.
  • On low speed, mix in the vanilla until well combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing on low until fully incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl for even mixing.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing well.
  • Gently fold in the mashed bananas and chocolate chips. You can sprinkle some extra chocolate chips on top of the batter before baking for added texture!
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the edges turn golden brown and the center is set.
  • Once baked, allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For added texture, you can sprinkle some extra chocolate chips on top of the batter before baking.
