8piecestostada shells or corn tortillasbrushed lightly with olive oil and baked until crispy
3cupscooked and shredded chicken
1.5cupsbarbecue saucedivided
2cupsshredded cheesemozzarella, cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend
3piecesgreen onionsvery thinly sliced (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lay out the tostada shells on two rimmed baking sheets.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked and shredded chicken with 1 cup of barbecue sauce, reserving the remaining 1/2 cup. Stir well to coat the chicken evenly for maximum flavor.
Divide the saucy chicken between the tostada shells and top each with about 1/4 cup of shredded cheese. Make sure to spread the cheese evenly to get that delicious melty goodness.
Bake in the preheated oven for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on them to avoid over-baking!
Once done, remove from the oven and drizzle the remaining 1/2 cup of barbecue sauce over the tostadas. Add thinly sliced green onions on top if desired for an extra burst of flavor.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding toppings like diced tomatoes, avocado slices, or a dollop of sour cream before serving.
