  • 3.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce (such as Sweet Baby Ray's)
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed light or dark
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Instructions
 

  • In the basin of a slow cooker, combine BBQ sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and crushed red pepper.
  • Place the chicken breast in the sauce and use a spoon to coat it evenly.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is easily shredded with forks.
  • Shred the chicken and mix well to coat it with the BBQ sauce.

Notes
