Equipment

  • Oven Preheat to 350°F for baking.
  • Skillet For browning beef and onions.
  • Baking Dish Greased for casserole.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup 10.75 oz can
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 cups cooked egg noodles drained
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the tomato soup, water, sour cream, half of the shredded cheddar cheese, cooked egg noodles, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is combined.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top for that gooey finish.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving to allow the dish to set.

Notes

Feel free to add some chopped vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrition. You can also top the casserole with breadcrumbs for a crunchy texture.
