Instructions
Heat olive oil in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add diced onions and cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the onions while cooking for added flavor.
Remove from heat and let cool.
In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, garlic powder, paprika, pepper, oregano, cayenne pepper, and the remaining salt. Mix well.
Add the cooled caramelized onions to the mixture and stir to combine.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour and stir before serving.
Top with crispy French fried onions, chives, and paprika before serving.
Notes
Feel free to customize the spice levels and add more crispy fried onions for extra crunch.
