  • 3 cup cauliflower florets lightly steamed
  • 2 cup broccoli florets lightly steamed
  • 12 ounce sliced smoked sausage
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 0.5 unit onion diced
  • 2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 ounce cream cheese softened
  • 2.67 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • unit salt to taste
  • unit pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the sliced sausage and sauté until seared, about 5 minutes. Once done, remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In a pot over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the diced onion to the pot and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the softened cream cheese to the pot and stir until melted and well combined.
  • Pour in the heavy whipping cream and whisk until smooth. Let it simmer over medium-low heat until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the steamed cauliflower, broccoli, and sautéed sausage.
  • Pour the cheese sauce over the vegetable and sausage mixture, stirring to combine thoroughly.
  • Spread the mixture evenly into a 9x9 baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in some cooked bacon or adding your favorite herbs. This dish pairs well with a side salad for a complete meal.
