Main Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese (3/4 ounce each)
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese (3/4 ounce each)
  • 8 slices tomato
  • 4 slices sweet onion
  • 8 strips cooked bacon
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Spread this mixture over four slices of sourdough bread.
  • Layer each of these slices with Swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, tomato slices, sweet onion slices, and bacon strips.
  • Top each sandwich with the remaining four slices of sourdough bread.
  • Butter the outsides of the sandwiches generously.
  • On a griddle over medium heat, toast the sandwiches until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes on each side.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, omit the bacon. Add a sprinkle of garlic powder or paprika for extra flavor.
