Ingredients
  

  • 2.5 pounds 1.13 kg asparagus, woody ends trimmed
  • 8 cloves garlic slivered
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese freshly grated
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the trimmed asparagus in a 9"x13" baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the slivered garlic, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and fresh thyme over the asparagus. Gently mix to ensure the garlic is evenly distributed.
  • Drizzle the heavy cream over the asparagus and then sprinkle with the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Lightly shuffle the asparagus to let some cheese reach the lower layers.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender and the cheese is melted.
  • Switch the oven to broil. Broil for 1-2 minutes until the cheese turns golden and bubbly. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a minute before serving. Enjoy this dish right away.

For added flavor, consider sprinkling some breadcrumbs on top before broiling for a crunchy texture.
