  • 1.5 pounds Italian Sausage, sliced
  • 1 whole Red Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 whole Green Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 0.5 medium Onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Beef Broth
  • 1.5 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In an ovenproof skillet, cook the sliced Italian sausage over medium-high heat on the stove until fully cooked. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • Reduce the heat to medium, then add the sliced bell peppers and onion to the skillet. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes until they start to become tender. Remove and set aside.
  • Drain any excess grease from the skillet to keep the dish from becoming too oily.
  • Deglaze the skillet by adding the beef broth, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom. This adds flavor to your dish.
  • Whisk in the heavy whipping cream, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir gently until well combined.
  • Continue to sauté the mixture until the sauce thickens, which should take around 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well incorporated into the sauce.
  • Return the cooked sausage and vegetables to the skillet, tossing them in the sauce to coat evenly.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

You can customize this dish by adding your favorite vegetables or adjusting the level of spiciness with different sausage varieties.
