Ingredients

  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry thawed, cut into squares
  • 9 tablespoons Ricotta cheese
  • 9 tablespoons Chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon Coarse sugar for sprinkling
  • 1 each Egg whisked for egg wash

Instructions
 

  • Take your frozen puff pastry out of the freezer about 30 minutes before you plan to assemble the squares.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C).
  • Unroll the thawed puff pastry and cut it into 9 equal squares.
  • Place about 1 tablespoon of ricotta cheese in the center of each square.
  • Apply the egg wash to the exposed edges of the pastry.
  • Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips on top of the ricotta.
  • Add a sprinkle of coarse sugar on each square.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a fun twist, try adding a dash of vanilla extract to the ricotta for extra flavor. You can also experiment with different types of chocolate chips, such as dark or white chocolate.
