  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1.33 cups mashed overripe bananas

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another large bowl, beat the brown sugar and butter with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the eggs and mashed bananas, blending well.
  • Combine the banana mixture with the flour mixture until just mixed.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the batter before baking.
