1cupsliced brown onion
2clovescrushed garlic
2.2lbschicken thigh fillets, trimmed and sliced
1tbspsweet paprika
1can (420g)condensed cream of chicken soup
7ozbutton mushrooms, sliced
5.3ozsour cream
Instructions
In the slow cooker, place the sliced onion and crushed garlic.
Toss the sliced chicken with paprika and 1 teaspoon of salt. Arrange the seasoned chicken evenly on top of the onion.
Pour the condensed cream of chicken soup and half a cup of water over the chicken. Cook on high for 3 1/2 hours.
After 3 1/2 hours, add the sliced mushrooms and sour cream to the slow cooker. Stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 30 minutes.
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and stir it into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
