  • 1 lb beef sausage
  • 0.5 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 14.5 ounces petite diced tomatoes
  • 8 ounces ditalini pasta
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 cup fresh basil

Instructions
 

  • In a large Dutch oven or pot, add the beef sausage. Cook over medium heat, browning and crumbling the sausage until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
  • Add the diced onion, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the pot. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the onion is softened.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • Pour in the petite diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and ditalini pasta. Ensure the pasta is fully submerged in the broth. Bring to a boil and cook for 8 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Stir in the softened cream cheese and grated Parmesan cheese. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring until well combined.
  • When ready to serve, top each bowl with fresh basil for a burst of flavor.

Notes

For a little extra kick, consider adding red pepper flakes. You can substitute the ditalini pasta with any small pasta shape you prefer.
