  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 inch Canola oil or other vegetable oil enough to fill skillet
  • 2 unit egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 pinch salt or other seasonings
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 unit green onion sliced, for garnish
  • 1 unit toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) to keep the chicken warm between batches.
  • In a pot, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and black pepper.
  • Whisk together egg whites, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Add chicken pieces and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a skillet to 350-360°F (177-182°C).
  • Fry marinated chicken pieces in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  • Bring sauce to a boil, add fried chicken, and toss to coat.
  • Serve garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes

For a spicier kick, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. You can serve this dish over rice or with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
