Ingredients
  

  • 1 block firm tofu
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 5 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger OR 1 teaspoon dried ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • For serving: sesame seeds spicy mayo, rice, and steamed broccoli

Instructions
 

  • Press the tofu to remove excess water and cut or tear it into small bite-sized pieces.
  • In a large bowl, coat the tofu pieces with flour, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the tofu and cook until crispy and lightly browned, about 8 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together cornstarch, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sriracha, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Lower the heat to medium-low once the tofu is crispy, and pour the sauce over the tofu. Stir to coat the tofu and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

Notes:
For extra flavor, sprinkle sesame seeds over the tofu before serving. Enjoy with a side of spicy mayo, rice, and steamed broccoli.
