In a 4 to 6-quart slow cooker, combine the beef stew meat, brown gravy mix, au jus mix, and water. Stir well to coat the meat evenly.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. This slow cooking method will make the beef wonderfully tender. Tip: If you’re short on time, you can cook on high for about 3 to 4 hours.
30 minutes before serving, cook the wide egg noodles according to the package instructions. They should be al dente for the best texture.
Once the beef is done cooking, serve the tender beef and rich gravy over the cooked noodles. For added flavor, sprinkle some fresh herbs like parsley or thyme on top before serving.
