Equipment

  • Crockpot For slow cooking the beans.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tbsp bacon drippings
  • 3 cans (15 oz) kidney beans
  • 3 cans (15 oz) white beans
  • 3 cans (15 oz) pork and beans
  • 3 small onions, diced
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 2 molasses
  • 3 tbsp yellow mustard
  • No alcoholic drinks allowed, please substitute with a non-alcoholic option.

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onions until the beef is browned, about 5-7 minutes. Be sure to drain excess fat to keep the dish from becoming greasy.
  • In a large Crockpot slow cooker, combine the cooked ground beef, onions, crumbled bacon, bacon drippings, kidney beans, white beans, pork and beans, brown sugar, ketchup, molasses, and yellow mustard. Stir well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.

Notes

For a smokier flavor, you can use smoked bacon or add a dash of liquid smoke to the chili.
