Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 4 thinly sliced green onions
  • 1 4 sliced green olives
  • 1 4 sliced black olives
  • 1 loaf French bread

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, garlic powder, and softened butter. Add a generous pinch of salt and pepper, then stir until the mixture is mostly smooth.
  • Mix in the shredded Monterey Jack cheese and sliced green onions until everything is well combined.
  • Gently fold in the sliced green and black olives into the cheese mixture.
  • Slice the French bread loaf in half widthwise, then cut each half lengthwise to create four pieces.
  • Evenly divide the olive and cheese mixture among the four pieces of bread, spreading it generously on the cut sides.
  • Place the prepared bread on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges of the bread start to turn golden brown.
  • For an extra crispy finish, broil the bread for 1-2 minutes, watching closely until the cheese is dark golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven, slice into pieces, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and enjoy!

Notes

For a little kick, consider adding some crushed red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture. This dish pairs wonderfully with a fresh salad for a complete meal.
