Equipment

  • 9x9-inch baking dish For baking the casserole

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb broccoli florets, chopped
  • 1 can unsalted cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup refrigerated sour cream-based French onion dip
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 container French fried onions

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 9x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, cream of mushroom soup, French onion dip, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, and half of the French fried onions. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
  • Spread the broccoli mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld beautifully.
  • After 25 minutes, remove the casserole from the oven. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and French fried onions on top for that extra crunch.
  • Return the casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on it to prevent over-browning.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in some cooked chicken or bacon bits. You can substitute the broccoli with other vegetables like cauliflower or green beans for a different twist.
