  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced about 1/2 inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the granulated sugar, light brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Cook while stirring constantly until all the sugar is absorbed by the butter, about 30-60 seconds.
  • Mix in the apples and lemon juice. Cook, stirring frequently, until the apples are softened, coated in the sauce, and tender when pierced with a fork, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Serve warm as desired. They are delicious on their own or served with vanilla ice cream, over pancakes, or any way you prefer!
