Equipment

  • Large Skillet For frying and sautéing the ingredients.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 large head Cabbage, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Avocado oil or cooking oil
  • 6 strips Bacon, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 package Andouille sausage, sliced diagonally into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 pound Uncooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Pepper Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 medium Onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons All Purpose Seasoning
  • 1 /2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 pinch Red Pepper Flakes
  • No alcoholic drinks allowed, please substitute with a non-alcoholic option.

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add avocado oil. Cook the bacon and andouille sausage until browned and crisp, about 3-5 minutes. Remember to stir occasionally for even cooking. Once done, remove from skillet.
  • Toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and lemon pepper. Cook the shrimp in the skillet for 60 seconds on each side. They cook quickly, so keep an eye on them! Remove and set aside with the bacon and sausage.
  • Save about a teaspoon of the remaining grease in the skillet, then add butter. Sauté the onion and bell peppers until the onions are translucent, which takes about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and stir for an additional minute to release its aromatic flavor.
  • Add the chopped cabbage, reduce heat to medium-low, and cover the skillet. Let the cabbage wilt down for about 10-12 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once wilted, mix the cabbage and peppers, then add all-purpose seasoning, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cover and cook on low for an additional 5 minutes to blend the flavors.
  • After cooking, remove the lid and add back the bacon, sausage, and shrimp. Stir to combine everything well. Serve hot over rice, with cornbread, or enjoy it on its own. Enjoy your delicious creation!
