  • 2 ripe bananas ripe bananas
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions
 

  • Peel the bananas and slice them into rounds.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the melted butter. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Place the banana slices in the skillet in a single layer.
  • Cook the bananas for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are caramelized and golden brown.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat.
  • Serve the caramelized bananas warm as a topping for pancakes, ice cream, oatmeal, or enjoy them on their own.

Notes

You can sprinkle some cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor. Caramelized bananas are great for using up ripe bananas and adding a sweet touch to various dishes.
