2cupssemi-sweet chocolate chipsDivided into two portions.
1.5cupsgranulated sugar
1.5cupslight corn syrup
1.5cupscreamy peanut butter
Instructions
Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish generously with butter.
Spread one package of Fritos evenly on the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips over the Fritos.
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine granulated sugar and light corn syrup. Bring to a rolling boil. Cook for 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in creamy peanut butter. Drizzle half of the sugar mixture over the Frito layer.
Spread the second package of Fritos over the sugar layer. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips over the Fritos. Drizzle the remaining sugar mixture over the second Frito layer.
Refrigerate the dish until firm and set. Cut into bars and serve.
Notes
For added crunch, you can sprinkle some chopped nuts over the chocolate layer before adding the second layer of Fritos.
