  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter Room temperature
  • 2 Tbsp parsley Finely chopped
  • 0.5 clove garlic Finely grated
  • 0.5 tsp kosher salt Diamond Crystal or Morton
  • 1 to taste black pepper Freshly ground
  • 4 slices sandwich bread Thick slices, Pullman or other
  • 4 oz sharp cheddar Coarsely grated

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the unsalted butter, chopped parsley, grated garlic, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Spread about 1 Tbsp. of the butter mixture on one side of each bread slice.
  • Place 2 bread slices, butter side down, in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  • Divide the coarsely grated cheddar cheese evenly between the bread slices in the skillet.
  • Top with the remaining bread slices, butter side up, creating a sandwich.
  • Cook the sandwiches for about 4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown underneath and the cheese is melted.
  • Carefully flip the sandwiches halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
  • Once both sides are golden brown and the cheese has melted, transfer the sandwiches to a cutting board. Slice them in half for easy handling.

Notes

Consider adding sliced tomatoes or crispy bacon for extra flavor. No alcoholic drinks allowed, please substitute with a non-alcoholic option.
