Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup very finely minced garlic
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.25 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper
  • to taste salt
  • as needed fresh chopped parsley for garnish
  • as needed bread for dipping (focaccia recommended)

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized shallow bowl or plate, combine the minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and dried oregano. Make sure the garlic is minced very finely to release its flavor.
  • Grate the parmesan cheese directly into the bowl, ensuring it mixes well with the other ingredients. Freshly grated cheese will melt into the oil beautifully.
  • Pour the extra virgin olive oil over the mixture and stir everything together with a spoon until well combined. This is where the magic happens, so take your time to mix well!
  • Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. If you like, sprinkle some fresh chopped parsley (or basil) on top for an extra touch. The herbs not only add flavor but also a pop of color.
  • Serve the dipping oil with pieces of bread for a delightful dipping experience. Focaccia is my personal favorite, but any fresh bread will do. Enjoy!

Notes

For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of garlic. Feel free to experiment with different herbs like basil or thyme for a unique twist.
