Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil or vegetable/olive oil
  • 3 cups broccoli florets washed and dried
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion diced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper sliced
  • salt to taste
  • white pepper to taste

Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 4 soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar packed
  • 1 tablespoon honey or to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

For Serving

  • 3 cups cooked rice

Instructions
 

  • Combine cornstarch and water in a covered container, shake to mix, and set aside.
  • Mix all sauce ingredients in a medium bowl, starting with 1 tablespoon of honey, and adjust sweetness at the end.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add broccoli and cook for 4-5 minutes until slightly softened. Remove and set aside.
  • Season beef with salt and white pepper. Cook beef and onions over medium-high heat until browned. Add bell peppers and cook for 1 minute.
  • Pour in the sauce mixture, bring to a boil, then simmer for 2-3 minutes. Slowly stir in the cornstarch mixture until the desired thickness is reached.
  • Reduce heat, add broccoli back to the pan, stir to combine, and heat through.
  • Garnish with green onions and serve over rice.
