Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 0.5 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with juices
  • 0.33 cup chicken or beef broth
  • 0.75 cup heavy cream
  • 1 pound uncooked potato gnocchi
  • 0.5 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and onion for 7-10 minutes. If there's excess fat, spoon most of it out.
  • Stir in the garlic and Italian seasoning.
  • Add the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, cream, and gnocchi to the pan. Stir well. Once the sauce bubbles, cover the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Uncover the pan, stir, and cook for a few more minutes until the gnocchi is soft and the sauce thickens.
  • Stir in the parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a handful of fresh basil or spinach before serving.
