  • 1 pound extra large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 0.25 cup minced fresh garlic
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • to taste Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
  • White rice for serving
  • No alcoholic drinks allowed, please substitute with a non-alcoholic option.

Instructions
 

  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Add the shrimp and coat them evenly.
  • In a large skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter with olive oil over medium heat.
  • Place the shrimp in a single layer in the skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes on one side until pink, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes until cooked through.
  • Add the remaining butter and garlic, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Remove the skillet from heat, then toss the shrimp with lemon juice and parsley.
  • Serve immediately over steamed white rice, drizzled with the extra garlic butter sauce from the pan.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a splash of white wine or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for some heat.
