Equipment

  • Air fryer Essential for cooking chicken crispy without oil.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chicken pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 cup Soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour or panko bread crumbs
  • 0.25 cup Cornstarch
  • 0.5 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Orange marmalade
  • 0.5 teaspoon Hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon White vinegar
  • 0.5 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Water

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces, salt, pepper, and 1/4 cup soy sauce. Let it marinate for 5-10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  • In a small bowl, mix the flour and cornstarch together. Dip each piece of marinated chicken into the flour mixture until well coated.
  • Place the coated chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray generously with oil. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  • While the chicken is cooking, prepare the orange sauce. In a saucepan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, orange marmalade, hot sauce, and white vinegar. Mix well and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Slowly pour the slurry into the simmering sauce while stirring continuously. Allow the sauce to simmer for an additional minute or two until it thickens.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, transfer it to a large mixing bowl. Pour the prepared orange sauce over the chicken and gently toss until completely coated.

Notes

For a crunchier texture, use panko bread crumbs instead of all-purpose flour. Feel free to adjust the level of hot sauce to suit your taste. Serve with steamed rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
