Equipment

  • Wok or Skillet For cooking the beef and vegetables.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup bok choy, shredded
  • 9 ounces ramen noodles
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 3 stalks green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1 large carrot, shredded or thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Begin by cooking the ramen noodles according to the package instructions until they are al dente. Once done, drain them and set aside. Tip: Rinse the noodles with cold water to stop the cooking process.
  • In a large wok or skillet, heat the olive oil over high heat. Add the ground beef, spreading it out evenly in the pan. Allow it to cook undisturbed for about 5 minutes, or until the juices have evaporated and a nice char forms on the bottom. Then, use a spatula to flip the beef and toss it around.
  • Toss in the sliced onion and cook for an additional minute. Next, add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the shredded bok choy and carrot, cooking for another minute until the carrot softens slightly. Turn off the heat.
  • Add the cooked ramen noodles to the wok. Pour in the oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, dark soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Toss everything together until well combined. Tip: Make sure the noodles are well coated with the sauce for the best flavor.
  • Finally, garnish your dish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the beef in a bit of soy sauce before cooking. Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for extra crunch and nutrition.
