Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Skillet or baking sheet

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 cup minced onion
  • 0.33 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2.5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley (optional)
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium-large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Dijon mustard, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, parsley, and Parmesan cheese (if using). Mix thoroughly without overmixing.
  • Roll the mixture into 1 ½ inch balls, about 1 tablespoon per meatball. Place on an oiled plate or lined baking sheet.
  • To cook in a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat and cook the meatballs for about 10-12 minutes, turning until browned and cooked through.
  • To bake, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake meatballs for 20-25 minutes until fully cooked.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in some Italian herbs or spices. Serve these meatballs with pasta, in a sub sandwich, or on their own with a dipping sauce.
