Instructions
In a medium pot or large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
Add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
Pour in about 3/4 cup of milk and mix into the butter mixture until it becomes a smooth slurry.
Gradually pour in the remaining milk, then add the water and seasonings.
Add the uncooked macaroni and mix thoroughly, stirring occasionally until you see steam rising.
Cook for 9-10 minutes, stirring regularly until the sauce thickens and the macaroni is just cooked – tender but firm.
Remove from heat and quickly stir in the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
Serve immediately and enjoy your creamy mac and cheese!
