Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pound chicken Cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon green onions Sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken pieces and coat them well with the flour mixture.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter with the oil over medium heat. Add the chicken in a single layer, shaking off excess flour. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
  • For the honey butter sauce, reduce the heat to low. Add the remaining butter to the skillet. Once melted, stir in the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the sauce thickens to a smooth caramel-like consistency, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat it entirely in the honey butter sauce. Let it cool for 5 minutes.
  • Serve the Honey Butter Chicken with white rice and sautéed green beans. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

You can adjust the cayenne pepper amount to suit your spice preference. No alcoholic drinks allowed, please substitute with a non-alcoholic option.
