Equipment

  • Large Skillet For cooking the beef mixture.
  • 9x13 baking dish For baking the taco shells.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 10 to 12 crunchy hard taco shells
  • 1.5 to 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Burger Sauce and Toppings

  • 0.5 cup mayo
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • shredded lettuce, chopped pickles, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes For toppings.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Drain any excess fat. Stir in ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  • Stand the taco shells in a 9x13 baking dish and bake them alone for 5 minutes to crisp up. Remove from the oven and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese in each taco shell. Divide the beef mixture among the shells and top with the remaining cheese.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes until the cheese melts and the taco shell edges brown.
  • While the tacos bake, mix the burger sauce ingredients in a small bowl and prepare the toppings.
  • Once baked, top the tacos with your favorite toppings and a drizzle of burger sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy!
