Equipment

  • Large Skillet For cooking the beef and sauce.
  • Pot For boiling the noodles.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 0.33 cup soy sauce
  • 0.33 cup hoisin sauce
  • 0.67 cup beef broth
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 tsp ground black pepper
  • 16 oz linguine, spaghetti, or rice noodles
  • 1 tbsp green onion, chopped optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Boil water in a large pot and cook the pasta according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes for linguine or spaghetti. Make sure to stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat and return the skillet to the heat.
  • Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine all ingredients, letting them simmer for about 5 minutes to meld the flavors.
  • Once the pasta is cooked and drained, add it to the skillet and gently toss to coat the noodles in the sauce. This should take about 2-3 minutes. Consider adding a splash of pasta water if the mixture seems too thick.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions if desired. This adds a fresh crunch and bright color to your dish!

Notes

Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas for extra flavor and nutrition.
