Preheat the grill to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. To make preparation easier, cut four strips of heavy-duty aluminum foil, each about 2 feet long.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix thoroughly and shape into four equal patties.
Toss the cubed potatoes, quartered mushrooms, and thickly sliced onions in a separate bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, oregano, parsley, salt, and pepper.
If cooking over a campfire, place a cabbage leaf on the bottom of each foil strip to create a barrier. Otherwise, directly layer the seasoned vegetables on the foil and place a burger patty on top.
Carefully fold and seal the foil packets securely, making sure they are well sealed to prevent any juices from leaking.
Grill the packets directly on the grates for 25-30 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the burger reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once cooked, carefully unwrap the packets and place a slice of cheese on each burger. Reseal the packets loosely and let the cheese melt for a few minutes.
Top the burgers with Miracle Whip or Heinz Simply Ketchup, lettuce, and tomato. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
You can customize the toppings to your preference, such as adding pickles or avocado slices. For a vegetarian option, swap the beef patties with plant-based burgers.
