Equipment

  • Baking sheet For placing the buns before baking.
  • Skillet For browning the beef.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 oz beef luncheon meat, grated
  • 2 cups spaghetti sauce Ragu recommended
  • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese or American cheese
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.125 tsp pepper
  • 12 count plain hamburger buns
  • 1 cup grated cheese combination of American and Mozzarella

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink, then drain the fat. This helps reduce grease in your final dish.
  • Add the grated luncheon meat to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until heated through.
  • Stir in the spaghetti sauce and your choice of cheese. Mix well until the cheese is completely melted and the mixture is bubbly. This usually takes about 3-5 minutes.
  • Place all the hamburger bun halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. This allows for even toasting and easy serving.
  • Spoon the desired amount of the meat and cheese mixture onto each bun half, making sure to pile it high for extra flavor.
  • Sprinkle the grated cheese combination on top of each bun. This extra layer of cheese makes everything even more delicious!
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning!
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade Pizza Burgers!

Notes

For a twist, you can add some sliced pickles, lettuce, or tomatoes to your cheesy hamburger buns before baking for extra flavor and freshness.
