  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 count egg
  • 0.5 teaspoon orange extract
  • 1 box orange cake mix
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • orange food coloring (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together the softened butter, cream cheese, egg, and orange extract until smooth.
  • Add the orange cake mix and mix thoroughly. If desired, add orange food coloring until you achieve your preferred orange hue.
  • Stir the white chocolate chips into the cookie dough. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Shape the dough into 24 balls. Roll each ball in powdered sugar and then place them on the prepared cookie sheets.
  • Bake the cookies at 350°F (175°C) for 12-13 minutes. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes before transferring them to a wire cooling rack to finish cooling.

Notes

For a burst of citrus flavor, you can add a bit of orange zest to the cookie dough before baking.
