  • medium saucepan For melting butter.
  • Mixing bowl For combining ingredients.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal later.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, pour it into a large mixing bowl. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well until combined.
  • Beat in the eggs until fully combined. Then, stir in the self-rising flour until just mixed. Add the chopped pecans and mix until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared 9x13 baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the bars turn light brown. Keep an eye on them towards the end to avoid overbaking.
  • Let the Pecan Chewies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can toast the pecans before adding them to the batter.
