  • 1 pound uncooked penne
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 10 ounces sliced pepperoni
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F. Position the rack in the top third of the oven for optimal baking.
  • Boil a pot of salted water and cook the penne for 2 minutes less than the package suggests. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce and about 1/3 of the sliced pepperoni.
  • Transfer the pasta mixture to a 9x13 baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella on top, followed by layering the remaining pepperoni over the cheese.
  • Bake the dish uncovered for 20 minutes. For an extra crispy finish, broil for a few minutes at the end, but keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

Notes

For a twist, add some chopped vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms to the pasta bake before baking.
