Dough Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 3.5 cups flour (497 to 568 g)

Filling Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups pizza sauce
  • 2 cups freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup chopped pepperoni
  • 0.25 cups cornmeal
  • 0.25 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In an electric stand mixer with a dough hook, combine warm water, honey, olive oil, yeast, and salt. Start mixing, then add 1 cup of flour. Gradually add more flour until a smooth ball forms. Knead the dough for 3-4 minutes. Tip: If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.
  • Let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes to rise.
  • Divide the dough into two parts. Roll out one part into a thin rectangle on a floured surface.
  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, followed by the mozzarella cheese and chopped pepperoni. Roll it up tightly like a cinnamon roll, and cut into 1-inch sections.
  • Dip the bottom of each pizza roll into cornmeal, which adds a nice crunch, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top of each roll for extra flavor.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Tip: Keep an eye on them to avoid burning!
  • Warm extra pizza sauce for dipping and serve the pizza rolls hot for the best experience.

Notes

For a twist, add your favorite pizza toppings like bell peppers, onions, or olives before rolling up the dough.
