Ingredients
  

  • 1 box store-bought brownie mix plus ingredients listed on the box
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bar
  • 4 ounces neufchatel or full-fat cream cheese softened
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉ (175°C) and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the brownie batter according to the package instructions in a mixing bowl. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add pumpkin, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
  • Spread 3/4 of the brownie batter in the prepared pan. Then spread the pumpkin-cream cheese batter over it.
  • Add the remaining brownie batter in small spoonfuls over the pumpkin layer. Swirl the batters together with a knife.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Sprinkle flaky salt on top.
  • Let the brownies cool on a wire rack before cutting into 16 pieces.
