Equipment

  • Wok or Wide Skillet For frying the chicken and stir-frying ingredients.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips
  • 0.25 cup cornstarch
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup vegetable or peanut oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the chicken strips and cornstarch. Mix well until the chicken is fully coated. Let it marinate for about 5 minutes.
  • In another bowl, mix together the soy sauce and brown sugar, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside.
  • Heat the oil in a wok or wide skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in batches, frying until it is crispy and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Once cooked, use a slotted spoon to remove the chicken from the pan and drain it on paper towels.
  • Carefully remove excess oil from the skillet, leaving about 1 tablespoon. Add the minced garlic and sliced jalapeños, cooking for about 30-40 seconds until fragrant.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and pour in the soy sauce mixture. Stir well and continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until everything is heated through and the sauce has thickened.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your delicious crispy chicken stir-fry!

Notes

For a milder dish, you can reduce the amount of jalapeños or remove the seeds. Feel free to add your favorite vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for extra color and nutrition.
