Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 piece boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • Fresh chopped parsley, optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Cut the chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create four thinner pieces. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil and one tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chicken to the hot pan and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (165°F). Transfer to a plate.
  • Reduce heat to medium and add the remaining tablespoon of butter and sliced onion. Sauté until softened and lightly browned, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up brown bits from the pan.
  • Stir in sour cream until smooth. Heat for a couple of minutes without bubbling.
  • Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over it, and season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a richer sauce, you can add a splash of white wine or a squeeze of lemon juice for extra flavor.
