Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 cups Romano cheese
  • 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 10 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 0.5 pound hot ham
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, chopped garlic, eggs, Romano cheese, and Italian bread crumbs.
  • Lay a piece of parchment paper on a flat surface and spread the meat mixture into a large square.
  • Layer the hot ham evenly over the meat mixture.
  • Add a layer of fresh spinach on top of the ham.
  • Place slices of mozzarella cheese over the spinach.
  • Using the parchment paper, carefully roll the meat mixture, ensuring the edges are sealed.
  • Transfer the rolled meatloaf into a large baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and top with marinara sauce and additional mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For a twist, you can add sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers to the filling before rolling the beef.
