  • 16 oz Pepper Jack cheese, shredded
  • 3 unit jalapeños, diced adjust based on your heat preference
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1.5 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • unit Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded Pepper Jack cheese and diced jalapeños. Mix well.
  • Shape the cheese mixture into balls about 1½ inches in diameter, squeezing tightly to compress them.
  • Place the cheese balls on a cookie sheet and freeze for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  • While the cheese balls are chilling, preheat your deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a shallow bowl, add the flour. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined.
  • In a third bowl, mix the bread crumbs with cayenne pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  • Once the cheese balls are chilled, roll each ball in the flour, dip it into the egg and milk mixture, and then coat it with the seasoned bread crumbs.
  • Fry the cheese balls in batches for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the bites from the fryer and drain them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For a milder flavor, you can remove the seeds from the jalapeños before dicing. Try serving these bites with ranch dressing or a spicy salsa for an extra kick!
